Pretty Lake Vacation Camp and
Edison Environmental Science Academy Partnership Pretty Lake Vacation Camp (PLVC) and Edison Environmental Science Academy (EESA) has partnered to share resources for the development of programs and curricula that involves students in learning about nature first hand. This partnership will lay the groundwork for field experiences at PLVC that involve students at the k-5 grade level throughout the school year. Field experiences will include classifying the flora and fauna, studying habitats and ecosystems, geography, agricultural practices, primitive camping as well as many more. EESA will also be working with PLVC staff to develop a community garden to grow produce to be processed and sold, or donated to the community. Overall this partnership will follow the ideals of the “Kalamazoo Promise” by working together to give the children of Kalamazoo the opportunity to experience a rich and diverse learning experience.
